The Brief
Kudos Accounting is a specialist healthcare accounting firm based in London, serving medical professionals — doctors, dentists, GPs, and healthcare practitioners — who need expert financial guidance tailored to their industry. When they came to me, they had no online presence whatsoever. No website worth speaking of, no search rankings, no social media, and no inbound leads. For a firm operating in one of London’s most competitive professional services markets, they were effectively invisible.
My role as a Marketing Freelancer was straightforward but ambitious: build their digital presence from the ground up and start generating high-quality leads as quickly as possible.
The Strategy
The first decision was the most important one. Rather than chasing vanity metrics or building slowly toward long-term results, I focused on one thing: revenue-generating activity from day one.
That meant identifying keywords with low competition, high search volume, and strong commercial intent — the searches made by people who are ready to hire an accountant, not just browsing. In healthcare accounting, those searches are highly specific and highly valuable. Ranking for them early meant getting Kudos Accounting in front of the right people at exactly the right moment.
From there, I built the strategy across four channels simultaneously:
Website Revamp — The existing site wasn’t fit for purpose. I rebuilt it with conversion in mind — clear messaging, strong calls to action, service pages optimised for search, and a professional design that immediately established trust with medical professionals landing on it for the first time.
SEO & Backlinks — I built out a targeted SEO strategy focused on high-intent healthcare accounting keywords across London. Alongside on-page optimisation, I developed a backlink strategy to build domain authority and accelerate rankings in a competitive local market.
Google Ads — To generate leads immediately while organic rankings were building, I launched Google Ads campaigns targeting high-intent commercial keywords. This ensured Kudos Accounting was visible at the top of search results from day one — capturing demand that already existed.
Instagram Reels — To build brand awareness and reach healthcare professionals in a less competitive space, I produced Instagram Reels tailored to the concerns and questions of the target audience. The results came quickly.

Leads started coming in from day one through Google Ads, while organic rankings built steadily in the background. Kudos Accounting went from zero online presence to ranking first on Google My Business for one of the most commercially valuable searches in their space — “Medical Accountants in London” — and claiming the top organic spot for “Bookkeeping for Healthcare.”


What Made It Work
The results came down to one strategic decision made at the start: prioritise commercial intent over everything else.
Most SEO strategies chase traffic. This one chased revenue. By identifying the exact searches made by healthcare professionals actively looking for an accountant — and targeting those first — Kudos Accounting started generating real, qualified leads while the broader digital presence was still being built.
Paid and organic worked in tandem. Google Ads delivered immediate visibility while SEO compounded in the background. Instagram Reels built brand recognition in the community. The website tied it all together by converting that traffic into enquiries.
In five months, Kudos Accounting went from invisible to industry-leading in search — and the leads to prove it.
